Well all of our visitors are gone and it seems WE ARE STILL HERE! YEP-WE'RE STILL HERE!
I feel like we will never leave and last night as Joey was packing to go me and the two little boys curled up in my Mom's bed, licking our wounds, wondering why we couldn't go too.. It really is hard. HOME, HOME, HOME. There is nothing like home for our family. Every vacation we have been on, every stint down the shore=home was always good to go home to. My heart feels broken. My sister says home will cure me and I know it to be true. I truly ventured out Saturday-Michaels, and Outback to eat-you can't imagine. I was so friggin paranoid the whole time that I actually considered eating in the car to avoid any and all possibility of attracting the swine flu! Or any flu for that matter. I miss life so terribly and one more thing. I am really sorry if I am suppose to be all happy and ho hum but that is IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME! It is what it is so I will not be offended if you don't want to read-believe me-this is therapy in it's truest form!
My mom went to the Dr. about her eye which is "hangin in" no pun intended. For those of you who don't know she struggling with a retina issue that might actually "break" Please keep her in your prayers. It would be really nice if she got to keep her eyesight in her left eye! I'll try to keep up-sorry - I really do love you

There's no place like home, there's no place like home ... and that is because you have made a wonderful, safe, comfortable haven for yourself and for your family. You are their home Jen, you are the wonderful, safe and comfortable person that your children and family circle around. And you are still that, just in a different place and different circumstance. And the home structure will still be there and it will come alive again once you all return. We will gather around and laugh and cry and share all you've been through and you will be home ... soon. Sometimes I don't want to leave my home, but if I never left I would never know what it was like to miss it. Keep on writing, I miss when you don't!
ReplyDeleteMissing you and your family,
xoxo Wendy and Tom
We're praying for your mom too.

Jen,
ReplyDeleteDon't know what to say except please do vent. We love you and are praying for you and your mom and hope to welcome you home soon.
Love,
Pam
Dear Jen,
ReplyDeleteI am from Lansdowne. I met your mom and dad when Tory was in the 2nd grade, and we still communicate through email and christmas cards. She told me or your ordeal, but girlie, I must say, you are one brave little cookie. Keep hanging in there. You are amazing, and if you are anything like Jo, you are going to come out of this. Of course, now I am worried about her eye, so tell her I am thinking of her.
If you remember the Wizard of Oz's ending, Dorothy never really left home. Home is where your heart is, and your family is there for you, and you will find that at the end of the rainbow in that hot air balloon Toto is going to be barking at your heels.
Keep on writing. It is a good place to get rid of all of your frustrations, aggravations, and concerns. I am very proud.
Now, did you have the bloomin' onion?
give your fabulous mother a big hug and kiss for me.
Love,
Brenda McPherson-Fry
Jen - I don't know Brenda but I agree with her wholeheartedly! That Wizard of Oz thing is true. Home is where the heart it. Continue to write whatever you want. You know we're here to listen. Your feelings are real and talking (or typing) helps you heal. You are doing awesome! It's already December so just think, you'll be home next month. Besides, the holiday time always goes by faster than you think. It's great you got out even though it was stressful. By the way, my mother had retina problems but still has her sight. (She even had three surgeries). We'll keep your mom in our prayers. I think ABCFamily has a countdown to Xmas with a different show each night. Focus on those shows and the New Year will be here before you know it. We're listening so keep writing. Love to you all - Connie and Chris Murphy
